The Dahachowk Hill also called ‘Kalu Pande’ (1900m) is located in the North West direction from central Kathmandu . The hill offers the panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley and in a clear day you can also see Dhulikhel in the far distance and the mountain views are just awesome. The Amitabh monastery built by the Bhutanese perched in a hill above Ramkot is another highlight of the walk. The whole walk to the hill is about 5 to 6 hours from Kathmandu and involves both cultural and quiet challenging too. It is also very easily accessible by road to the start and end points and is worth getting away from the crowded city to see the village life and the panoramic views of the city and mountains behind.
Met at the hotel by your guide at 0700hrs and drive to Sitapaila the start point. Walk for 1 hour to the Amitabh Monastery, continue to Ramkot located in the valley below. The uphill walk then begins to ‘Kalu Pande’ hill which is very cultural as you pass the local villages, schools and terraced fields.
